Rights and Liabilities of EEIG Functionaries

All experts (chief representatives, governors, national and regional presidents, vice presidents, chairpersons of working commissions, deputy chairpersons of working commissions, professional presidents, heads of central offices, their deputies, senators, commissioners, etc.) according to Art. 16 of the Treaty of Foundation who are generally regarded as “functionaries” of the European Economic Chamber of Trade, Commerce and Industry (EEIG) and other collaborators (delegates, partners, sponsors etc.) are acting even in their functions for the Chamber on their own responsibility.

Every functionary has signed a “declaration of acceptance” confirming to respect the Standing Orders (especially Art. 4 and Art. 7) of the European Economic Chamber of Trade, Commerce and Industry (EEIG) and to act only on his/her own behalf, account, and risk.

The only steering and decision making bodies, as stipulated in the Treaty of Foundation, are the Management (Board of Directors) and the General Assembly. All resolutions of the Presidents’ Conference which votes with simple majority are only recommendations to the Management.

Functionaries are not authorized to conclude any contracts which are legally binding for the Management of the European Economic Chamber of Trade, Commerce and Industry (EEIG) or to use the official (round) seal of the Chamber. Contracts with third parties need to be countersigned and sealed by the Chairman of the Board of Directors (CEO) in Brussels.
